Tucson Essay Club’s main purpose is to connect readers and writers of the essay with a connection to Tucson.
We do Public Events, open to all, and private events for Club Members only. These may include readings; salons or conversations with writers, editors, agents; craft talks; book launches; social hours; workshops; and write-togethers. Events may also be a little bit less usual, like pecha kucha nights or Evenings with Obsessions, sharing works in progress, and who knows what else. We dig collaborations. We want to present more memorable events and fewer boring ones.
Members pay $60 a year, or $5 a month, about as much as you’d pay for an ok cup of coffee somewhere, via our Substack. All Club Members are invited to all club events. Membership fees go entirely to venue fees, event costs, making cool merch, and paying writers. As a Club Member you’ll receive a members-only t-shirt designed by Tucson badass artist Jos Par. You also have access to all the public and Members Only posts on Substack. You get to be part of the freaking Club is the best part.
